PETG filament

PETG filament
PETG has the advantages of ABS, without the disadvantages, as well as the advantages of PLA, without the disadvantages. It is stronger and more flexible than ABS. Another property is that you will not get unpleasant odors in the workspace with this material.
It is particularly suitable for printing, for example, phone cases or mechanical parts, due to the high shock resistance on one hand and some flexibility on the other. It is durable, lasts a long time, and is also fully recyclable. It is lightweight and if sterilized also food safe (soft drinks are also in PET bottles). It also hardly shrinks when cooling after printing.
The difficulty level regarding printing is low, comparable to that of PLA
Temperature: Print at 220-250º C. Heated bed not necessary.
General advantages of PETG filament
- PETG is more durable. Overheating regular PET makes it cloudy and brittle. PETG is highly shock resistant and the additives ensure that the material does not crystallize during heating and thus does not become brittle.
- If professionally printed, it can be sterilized
Advantages of PETG filament
- PET has the property of combining the advantages of ABS (stronger, temperature resistant, and more durable) with the advantages of PLA (easy 3D printing) in one material.
- The layer adhesion is generally excellent.
- Little warping and little shrinking of the 3D prints
- The material, the prints, and the misprints can be recycled
